The Hoffman farm was purchased by Johannes in 3 parcels. The first 25 acres were purchased from Richard Hollister on Dec. 29, 1832 - part of Lot #20 of the Wilhem and Jan Willenk 40,000 Acre Tract. On May 11, 1835, Johannes purchased another 25 acres, from the same tract, from Wilhem Willenk, Wilhem Willenk Jr. and Wilhem Willenk Jr.'s son - from the land agent David Evans. This was a part of Lot #25. On March 13, 1836, Johannes purchased 71.21 acres from Richard Hollister, also a part of Lot #25. In 1866, Johannes deeded 21 acres to his son-in-law, James Bliss (a south-west corner of Lot #25). The rest of the acreage has remained in the family to the present day.

375 1900 Census lists Hattie as Annie. This could be a mistake or she could go by both name....Also states that she has been married for 17 years....

1910 states that Hattie has been married for 21 years and Mervin has been married for 27 years... could this be a mistake.. 21 years would make the married in 1889. Could this be why I am unable to obtain a marriage certificate.
